Mojácar – white village full of charm and views

Mojácar is one of Andalusia’s most beautiful villages. Whitewashed houses cling to the hillside, with narrow streets full of flowers and sea views. In the lanes you’ll find small studios, cafés and the scent of jasmine. From the main square, the panorama stretches from the coast to the mountains. Mojácar remains authentic with its Moorish roots and relaxed atmosphere, just six minutes from the villa.

Beaches of Mojácar, Garrucha and Vera

Along the coast of Mojácar Playa, only eight minutes from the villa, you’ll find long sandy beaches with sunbeds and beach bars, as well as quiet coves among the rocks. In Garrucha (ten minutes) there’s a lively harbour atmosphere with a promenade and seafood restaurants. Further north, Vera Playa (fifteen minutes) offers dunes and calm waters. The coastline has something for everyone – from vibrant beach days to peaceful hideaways.

Nature and surroundings

The area around Turre and Mojácar blends sea, mountains and silence. Just five minutes from the villa lies the Sierra Cabrera, with whitewashed villages, walking trails and views reaching the sea. Inland, the village of Bédar offers authentic charm. For a day trip, Cabo de Gata–Níjar Natural Park (about forty minutes) is a must: volcanic landscapes, crystal-clear water and deserted beaches where nature still feels untouched.

Culture and traditions of Andalusia

Life here follows the rhythm of old traditions: village festivals, local parades and markets where everyone knows each other. In Mojácar and Turre there are often open-air events under the stars. The mix of Moorish history and Spanish warmth gives the villages their own identity. Visitors quickly feel at home – the culture is lively, colourful and each with its own story and character.

Food and drink – the taste of Almería

Here, food means slowing down and enjoying life. From fresh fish in Garrucha to tapas in local bars, the cuisine is simple yet full of flavour. Try regional dishes like ajo colorao or migas, with wine from Laujar or the Alpujarras. Markets are filled with olives, ham and local cheeses. Eating here is about more than food – it’s sharing, laughter and living in the moment.

Golf with views of sea and mountains

Golf lovers are spoilt for choice. Five minutes from the villa lies Marina de la Torre in Mojácar with sea views. Valle del Este in Vera is about fifteen minutes away. Desert Springs in Cuevas del Almanzora, twenty-five minutes by car, is Europe’s only desert golf course. Each one offers sunshine, peace and wide horizons – golfing in the warm light of Andalusia.
